Steering rack spacers fit MM K-member with MM solid steering rack bushings (MMST-6).
When do I need these?
- When installing a manual steering rack on a Mustang equipped with one of the MM k-members for a pushrod 5.0L-based engine. (MMKM-1 and MMKM-1.1). The rack must be moved forward because the casting near the input shaft is larger on a manual rack than it is on a power rack. The larger casting interferes with the k-member motor mount pads. There is no interference on the MM k-members for the overhead cam engines (MMKM-2 and MMKM-2.1).
- When swapping a Coyote engine into a Fox or SN95 Mustang and retaining the CMCV vacuum motors that are standard on 2015+ Coyote engines. Those require moving the engine forward, which creates an interference between the oil pan and a power steering rack. Moving the rack forward creates the necessary clearance.
